BOSTON – City officials are trying to locate the owner of “Chelsea,” a Golden Retriever mix who was found abandoned in a crate in Mattapan.

A good Samaritan found Chelsea Sunday behind the bushes in the patio area of ​​221 River St. in Mattapan, city officials said.

The concerned citizen brought the dog to the MPSCA where it was later picked up by a Boston animal control officer, officials said. The dog’s body was very thin and the dog had a strong smell and smell.

The animal control officer took Chelsea to Angell Animal Hospital, where she received care before being transferred to the City of Boston Animal Care Facility.

Chelsea got her name from the animal staff that rescued her. He is doing well and is currently under the care of city veterinarian Dr. Martha Smith Blackmore, officials said.
