Four-star offensive tackle Kevin Heywood commits to Wisconsin

Royersford (Pa.) Pope John Paul II offensive tackle Kevin Heywood had four official visits scheduled for the month of June.

You will only need one of them.

After taking an official visit to Wisconsin last weekend, Heywood opted to close his recruitment and commit to head coach Luke Fickell and the Badgers.

Heywood also had scholarship offers from Alabama, Georgia, USC, Penn State, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Auburn, Texas A&M, Michigan, Miami (FL), Pittsburgh, Stanford and more. The 6-foot-7 junior had visits set with Kentucky (June 9), Auburn (June 16) and USC (June 23) for the rest of the month.

Assistant coaches Colin Hitschler and Jack Bicknell were the primary recruiters for Heywood, who was heavily projected to the Nittany Lions before arriving in Madison Thursday night.

According to the 247esports composite rankings, Heywood is the nation’s No. 25 offensive tackle and the No. 266 player in the class of 2024. UW now has 11 commitments in its 2024 recruiting class. Heywood is the No. 2 offensive lineman of the fold, joining Arrowhead’s Derek Jensen.
