PLAINVIEW, Texas (KTRK) — The search for an inmate who escaped from prison Saturday night is over after authorities caught him in northwest Texas.
The Texas Department of Criminal Justice said the fugitive, 22-year-old Trent Thompson, walked out of the Formby unit in Plainview around 11:14 p.m. Saturday.
On Sunday, authorities said they captured him around 11:15 a.m. in Coleman, Texas, about 250 miles from the prison.
Thompson was convicted of three counts of aggravated robbery out of Taylor County and Coleman County and aggravated assault of a Coleman County official, according to jail officials.
