MEDFORD, Mass. – Commuters trying to get to Boston faced long delays on Interstate 93 in Medford Tuesday morning as a roadside death investigation unfolded, officials said.

The right travel lanes were closed on the southbound side of the freeway near Somerville at Exit 21 for hours during the morning rush hour as detectives searched for clues in connection with the discovery of a body found around of 4:30 am, according to the state of Massachusetts. Police.

The investigation’s findings indicated that a man “intentionally jumped from the overpass onto I-93 below, where he was struck by at least one vehicle and likely more than one,” a state police spokesman said .
