A motorcyclist died Friday night after a crash in the Antelope area of Sacramento County, officials said. The California Highway Patrol said the motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, was southbound on Walerga Road, north of Elverta Road, when a Mazda attempted to make a U-turn. in a WinCo Foods parking lot stepped into the path of the motorcycle. The motorcyclist crashed into the vehicle and died at the scene. The southbound lanes of Walerga Road between Elverta Road and Shandwick Drive are expected to be closed for an hour, CHP said. A motorcyclist died Friday night after a crash in the Antelope area of Sacramento County, authorities said.
The California Highway Patrol said the motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, was southbound on Walerga Road, just north of Elverta Road, when a Mazda trying to turn into a WinCo Foods parking lot stood in the path of the motorcycle. The motorcyclist crashed into the vehicle and died at the scene.
The southbound lanes of Walerga Road between Elverta Road and Shandwick Drive are expected to be closed for about an hour, CHP said.
The driver of the Mazda, another man, stayed at the scene of the crash, CHP said.
