ALL RIGHT. WE WILL FOLLOW IT WITH YOU, MICHELE. THANKS. WELL, FROM HERE WE’LL GO TO SOME BREAKING NEWS IN DORADO COUNTY. WE WANT TO SHOW HERE THIS BURNING STRUCTURE THERE. It seems to be a house. THIS IS LIVECOPTER3, HERE ON SCENE. JUST TO GIVE YOU AN IDEA OF WHERE WE ARE TALKING HERE, THIS IS SOUTH OF THE VILLAGE OF EL DORADO. AND THIS IS WEST OF HIGHWAY 49. THIS IS NEAR CHINA HILL ROAD. YOU CAN LOOK TOTALLY INVOLVED IN IT. AND YOU CAN SEE THE FLAMES JUST COMING FROM BOTH STORIES OF THIS HOUSE. WE’VE BEEN LOOKING AT THIS FOR ABOUT 5 TO 8 MINUTES. AND LISA, WE JUST NOTICED THAT THE FIRE, THAT HOUSE IS A TOTAL LOSS. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR NOW IS TO SEE IF SOME OF THIS FIRE IS MOBILIZING ANY OF THE OTHER BUILDINGS. WE HAVE NOT YET SEEN ANY DIRECT EVIDENCE OF THIS, ALTHOUGH YOU CAN SEE THE YARD HERE OR THAT PART OF THE YARD THAT WAS BURNT IN FRONT OF THE HOUSE. YES, YOU CAN SEE THE FIREFIGHTERS ON THE TOP LEFT OF THE SCREEN PULLING HOSES TO APPROACH THE ACTUAL HOUSE THAT IS ON BURNING. THERE IS ANOTHER STRUCTURE. IT LOOKS LIKE ANOTHER PROPERTY AND HOUSE NOT TOO FAR FROM THIS HOUSE THAT WE SAW WHEN APPROACHING THIS FIRE WHEN WE WERE TRYING TO INVESTIGATE WHAT THIS BLACK SMOKE IS. AND WE GET A LITTLE CLOSER AND THERE ARE OTHER HOUSES NOT THAT FAR FROM THIS ONE, ALTHOUGH YOU CAN SEE IT’S A QUITE LARGE PROPERTY WITH THAT POOL IN THE FUND. AND LOTS OF PATIO FURNITURE ON THE VOL. IT LOOKS LIKE THERE IS A GARAGE ON THE LEFT. BUT THE TWO STORIES OF THIS MAIN HOUSE ARE A LOSS, AS YOU SAID. AND HERE THEY PUT WATER IN IT. YES. AND AS WE’RE GOING TO SEE THEM PUT THE WATER ON THE TABLE IN THIS HOUSE, IF WE CAN JUST BRING THIS MARK IN FOR A SECOND HERE, BECAUSE MARK, YOU KNOW, WE FEEL THE TEMPERATURES ARE WARMING UP A LITTLE BIT IN SOME LOCATIONS IN OUR AREA TODAY. AND WE WERE LOOKING TO SEE IF THIS THING WAS JUMPING INTO SOME OF THE LEAVES OUT THERE. BUT THERE DOESN’T APPEAR TO BE ANY DIRECT PROOF OF THIS. NO I CAN’T SEE WHAT HAPPENS. AND IT DOESN’T LOOK LIKE THE GROUND IS BURNING AROUND IT, IT DOESN’T LOOK LIKE THAT’S HOW IT STARTED, AT LEAST AS FAR AS WE CAN TELL RIGHT NOW. THE FIRE EQUIPMENT YOU WILL SEE ON THE SCENE NOW HAS RECENTLY ARRIVED. NOW WE ARE PUTTING DOWN THEIR HOSES. SO WE WATCHED FROM LIVECOPTER3 BASICALLY BURNING ON IT’S OWN FOR ABOUT 5 OR 6 MINUTES WHILE THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS ON THE ROUTE AND THEN GET THEIR TEAM TO THE SITE. THAT, BUT YEAH, THAT DOESN’T APPEAR, WHY YOU MAY BE MOVED TO OTHER STRUCTURES IN THE AREA, AT LEAST NOTHING EXTENDED AS YOU CAN SEE. IF YOU LOOK THE TREES DO NOT MOVE. THIS PART OF THE DORADO COUNTY WE DON’T HAVE A LOT OF WIND HERE. AND HERE THE TEMPERATURES ARE AROUND 80 TO 82. SO THEY DON’T GET AS HOT AS THEY OVER THE TIME. BUT I’M SURE THE FIREFIGHTERS ARE CLOSE TO THE FLAMES, THAT’S OBJECTIVE, AND WITH ALL THEIR EQUIPMENT THEY ARE VERY HOT NOW. YES, ABSOLUTELY. AND YOU CAN JUST SEE HOW DRY THE GROUND AROUND IT IS. AND IT SEEMS LIKE HE’S ALREADY DOING A LOT JUST BY PUTTING THAT WATER ON IT. AND HOPEFULLY THEY CAN CONTAIN IT ONLY IN THIS AREA. THERE IS ALSO A GOOD DEFENSIVE SPACE AROUND THIS PROPERTY. YEAH, I MEAN YOU CAN SEE SOME PLUMBING AREAS THERE AND IT LOOKS LIKE THEY RUN ANOTHER HOSE AND SHOOT A COUPLE OF RIVERS OF WATER ON BOTH SIDES OF THE HOUSE. AND WE SAW A LOT OF SMOKE RISING FROM HERE. BUT THE FIRE IS STILL BURNING STRONGLY. It looks like they’re being put in place so in reality, in one fell swoop, they probably just knocked it over. BUT THERE GOES ANOTHER COUPLE OF SHOTS FROM THOSE BIG FIRE HOSES. THAT WILL SEE A LOT OF SMOKE AS A RESULT. AND YOU CAN SEE HOW DARK THIS SMOKE IS NOW. JUST INDICATIVE OF THE FIRE RUNNING THROUGH A LOT OF FUEL THAT IS PROVIDED BY THE INSIDE OF THAT HOUSE THERE. YES. THIS IS NOT FAR OFF ROUTE 49, SOUTH OF DIAMOND SPRINGS, SOUTH OF THE VILLAGE OF EL DORADO. BUT NORTH OF THE CITY OF NASHVILLE AND PLYMOUTH AND THERE ARE MANY OTHER DIFFERENT STRUCTURES. ON THE LEFT, It looks like there is also some sort of caravan. I’M LOOKING AT THE FLIGHT RADAR AND IT DOESN’T LOOK LIKE ANY PLANES ARE COMING TO HELP IN THIS FIREFIGHT, IT’S A STRUCTURE FIRE THAT IS JUST ATTACKING FROM THE MOUNTAINS. BUT AT THIS TIME OF THE YEAR, YESTERDAY WE SAW A GOOD EXAMPLE. PEOPLE START SEEING SMOKE, SMELLING SMOKE, THAT THING. EVERYONE IS ON ALERT, AS YOU CAN SEE IN THIS IMAGE, THE SUN IS DRY AND WE ARE NOW IN THAT PART OF THE SEASON WHERE WE ARE ALL HYPER AWARE WHEN WE SEE SMOKE. So I’m sure a lot of people driving up and down Hwy 49 right now ARE SEEING THIS SMOKE AND MAYBE EVEN SMELLING THIS SMOKE. SO THAT’S WHERE IT’S COMING FROM, A STRUCTURE FIRE WITH AN INCREASED NUMBER OF FIRE DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL NOW. So THEY TRY TO ACHIEVE THAT. BUT THIS DOESN’T LOOK LIKE IT BECAME A FIRE. YES, THIS IS THE GOOD NEWS. AND IN ADDITION THERE ARE ALSO CONNECTIONS WITH THE SWIMMING POOL ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE PROPERTY. SO YOU KNOW THE FLAMES ARE NOT GOING TO MOVE FROM THIS. AND YOU CAN SEE HOW QUICKLY THEY PUT THAT COLOR OF FIRE OUT. AND THE SMOKE GIVES YOU THE CLUE THAT THE FLAMES ARE BEGINNING TO GO OUT. NOW THAT YOU HAVE THAT PERSON AT WHAT APPEARS TO BE THE FRONT OF THE HOUSE, HITTING HER REALLY HARD. AND THEN YOU HAVE THE BIGGEST HOSE, IT SEEMS, FROM SCREEN TO SCREEN. AND YES, NOW IT’S JUST A QUESTION OF FIRE TO THE FLAME
