At least one person is dead after a shooting in Willowbrook, in southwest suburban DuPage County, early Sunday morning.
Firefighters responded to calls from gunshot victims around 12:30 a.m. Sunday. According to officials, there was a “very large” gathering of people at a shopping center located at Route 83 and Honeysuckle Rose Lane. Firefighters transported 10 people to local hospitals.
Battalion Chief Steve Vogel of the Tri-State Fire Protection District said of those 10 people, one person died and one was in critical condition.
Vogel said police estimate nearly 20 people were shot. Authorities also report that seven people were taken to the hospital.
