One person has been detained and arrested after a standoff in an Auburn neighborhood on Saturday. According to officials, the initial call was for a man barricaded inside a home in the 800 block of Marguerite Mine Road. According to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office, after officers arrived on scene, the man inside the home began shooting from inside the residence. A multi-agency response quickly surrounded the affected area and secured the neighborhood. Police asked people within a half-mile radius to shelter in place. Access was temporarily blocked with a SWAT team on scene. The confrontation lasted almost 14 hours, from Saturday night to Sunday morning. The subject, later identified as 35-year-old Roger Kenerly, surrendered peacefully mid-morning Sunday.
