The U.S. Coast Guard provided an update Wednesday afternoon on the search for a diver who went missing while bringing five people to the wreckage of the Titanic. Overnight, the agency said a Canadian search plane noises detected under water in the search area and crews focused on finding the source of the sounds.
The disappearance of the diver on Sunday has stimulated a massive response from the US and Canada as search teams rush to find the missing group in the North Atlantic Ocean. Wednesday morning, the Coast Guard said two Canadian Coast Guard vessels and a commercial vessel arrived in the search area.
A Canadian research vessel lost contact with the 21-foot submarine an hour and 45 minutes after its dive Sunday morning about 900 nautical miles off the coast of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. It was expected to resurface Sunday afternoon.
