Fans Welcome Home ORU Baseball Team After Record-Breaking Season

ORU baseball was welcomed by fans Wednesday afternoon at JL Johnson Stadium, dodging raindrops to congratulate the Golden Eagles on their most successful season in nearly half a century.

The Golden Eagles certainly would have preferred their return trip to Tulsa to be a few days later, but despite ending earlier than they wanted, the season will go down as one of the most successful in program history.

The team won 52 games, a program record for the Division 1 era.

Cade Denton was the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Player of the Year. Ryan Folmar was named coach of the year.

An elimination loss to TCU shouldn’t tarnish the year.
