NBA Insider: Talks between Indiana Pacers and Atlanta Hawks broke down
There have been rumblings of a Pacers-Lakers trade for years, and one finally came to fruition. Probably not what you would have expected.
As first reported by Adrian Wojnarowski, the Pacers are sending the 40th pick to the Lakers for the 47th pick and cash considerations.
The Los Angeles Lakers are acquiring the 40th pick from the Indiana Pacers for the No. 47 pick and cash, sources tell ESPN.

It was initially unclear how much cash would have been involved, but Pacers insiders were able to confirm how much cash was involved as part of the deal.
If the Pacers feel the talent isn’t really different between the 40th and 47th pick, then this is an obvious deal between the two franchises and a good one for the Pacers. While this isn’t the Turner/Hield deal we’ve seen rumored for so long, it’s a smart use of our assets.
But it looks like the Pacers aren’t done yet. Pacers reporter Scott Agness reports that the Pacers probably aren’t done yet.
The Pacers have now been traded twice, first to the Nuggets and now to the Lakers. And they are not finished.
They’re very active on the trade market trying to acquire a veteran wing and in talks with multiple teams, I’m told.

As such, fans have a lot to get excited about in the coming hours. But one thing is absolutely certain.
