Sources: Something probably landed in the yard, later recovered
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A Las Vegas family claims something crashed in their backyard, prompting them to call 911 about “non-human” beings; the thing is, this time, several people saw it.
On April 30 around 11:50 p.m., a Las Vegas Metro Police officer’s body camera video recorded something seeping through the sky. Several people in eastern California, Nevada and Utah reported seeing the flash, according to the American Meteor Society.
Sources tell 8 News Now Investigators it’s likely something crashed in the yard, but exactly what wasn’t clear more than a month later. The drone video showed a circular footprint in the dirt.

About 40 minutes later, a man called 911, saying he and his family saw something fall from the sky and that two things were moving in their northwest valley backyard.

Caller: There’s like an 8-foot person next to us and another inside of us and he’s got big eyes and he’s looking at us, and he’s still there,” the caller told a dispatcher.
Distributor: OK, where is this on your property?
Caller: In my backyard. I swear to god this is not a joke, it really is: we are terrified.
Distributor: So there are two people, there are two subjects in your yard?
Caller: Correct and they are very large. They’re like 8 feet, 9 feet, 10 feet. They look like aliens to us. big eyes They have big eyes. Like, I can’t explain, and big mouth. They are bright, human eyes. They are not 100% human.
Distributor: OK.

“I’m so nervous right now,” one officer said as he prepared to drive home. “I got butterflies bro – I saw a shooting star and now these people are saying there are aliens in the back yard.”
Officers arrived at the home approximately half an hour after the 911 call.
“What did you see?” an officer asked a witness.
“It was like a big creature,” said one witness.
“A great creature?” asked the officer.
“Yes, over 10 feet tall,” replied the witness.
“I’m not going to BS, guys. One of my partners said he saw something fall from the sky, too,” the officer said. “So that’s why I’m a little curious. Have you seen anything land in your backyard?”

The video shows an officer entering the backyard to investigate, but Metro Police blacked out that portion of his body camera video citing privacy laws.
“I don’t believe it, but what I saw right now, I do believe it,” a witness told police.
“You guys look scared, so I don’t blame you,” one officer replied.

Around the same time, another witness told police he saw an SUV driving around the area. While one officer investigates in the backyard, a second officer talks to neighbors passing by.
“This may sound like a very stupid question, but have you seen anything fall from the sky?” an officer asks a passenger in a passing car. “Normally I’d dismiss it as probably not real, but seeing as how one of my partners said they saw it too, the only reason I’m looking into it further.”

The Metro Police investigation had not turned up concrete answers as of Wednesday. Although initially open for several days, the department has since closed the case. The family said officials returned to the home for several days to investigate.
“Hey, if those 9 foot beings come back, why don’t you call us okay?” an officer said as he left the house and returned to his cruiser.
Representatives from nearby Creech and Nellis Air Force Bases said they were not involved in the incident and suggested they contact Metro Police.
A Pentagon spokesman did not immediately respond to questions about the event.
Falsely calling 911 is a Class E felony in Nevada. A conviction can result in a prison sentence of 1 to 4 years.
