Clemson Trustees OK New Veterinary School
Clemson University’s board of trustees approved the creation of a college of veterinary medicine, the first in South Carolina. The inaugural class is scheduled to arrive in the fall of 2026. “The university will leverage the university’s existing animal health programs and infrastructure to build a veterinary medicine workforce to fill a statewide shortage of veterinarians,” Clemson said. The program will use a distributed model of clinical teaching.
Chewy improves pet insurance offering
Chewy’s online retailer CarePlus pet health insurance includes expanded coverage options and price points from providers Trupanion and Lemonade Pet. CarePlus plans are available in 45 states.

Covetrus Pulse is in 3,000 veterinary consultations
The veterinary operating system Covetrus Pulse marked its first year of existence with a presence in more than 3,000 veterinary consultations. “Over the past year, Covetrus has continued to advance Pulse with data-driven user insights, incorporating more than 1,500 user-submitted ideas and improvements,” the company reported.
VetCT launches website for the US market
VetCT, a UK-based teleradiology and teleconsultation provider, has launched a new US website. “The VetCT site will provide veterinary medicine providers in the US and Canada with a portal to access more than 200 teleradiology and teleconsultation specialists,” according to the company. “In addition, the site provides comprehensive information about the company and its services, including teleradiology, teleconsultation, equine and education.” More information at us.vet-ct.com.
CityVet expands to 31 locations
Dallas-based CityVet stayed close to home with the opening of its 31st practice. The Old East Dallas Clinic is directed by Effie Giannopoulos, DVM. “She has been with us since our first clinic and we are thrilled to have her at the helm of our 31st location,” said CEO David Boguslawski.
Bond Vet’s new CEO is from VCA
Garrett Lewis has been named CEO of the New York-based Bond Vet chain, replacing company founder Mo Punjani, who will continue as president. Garrett previously worked as the Chief Operating Officer at VCA Animal Hospitals. Bond Vet operates approximately 40 hospitals in the metropolitan cities of New York, Boston, Chicago and Washington, DC
OraStripdx partners with EPiQ Animal Health
EPiQ Animal Health will promote and distribute OraStripdx, a 10-second test for detecting periodontal disease in pets. “EPiQ, which supplies products to nearly 100% of U.S. veterinarians through its channel partners, will significantly increase access to OraStripdx,” said John Beran, CEO of PDX Biotech, the product’s manufacturer.
Asto CT supplies an equine scanner to Mizzou
The University of Missouri Veterinary Health Center installed a standing equine CT scanner made by Asto CT Inc. “We see this technology being widely adopted among horse owners because of the reduced cost and quick scans,” said Dr. Kevin Keegan, an equine university physician.
