A missing teenager has been found eight years after he disappeared while walking his dogs in Houston, police say.
A spokesperson for the Houston Police Department confirmed to ABC News that Rudolph ‘Rudy’ Farias IV was found unconscious outside a church on June 29. He was picked up by a family member and is scheduled to be interviewed by police on Wednesday.
Police say the investigation into Faris’ disappearance is ongoing and have not been able to confirm many details about the case.
Farias, then 17, was walking her two dogs on the afternoon of Friday, March 6, 2015, when she went missing, according to the search and recovery organization. Texas Equinesearch.
The dogs were found soon after, but Farias, who was said to have an injured right leg and was walking with a slight limp, remained missing.
Texas Equusearch also warned at the time that Farias suffered from “depression, PTSD and anxiety” before his disappearance and that he “may be disoriented because he has not been taking his medication.”

A spokesperson for the Houston Police Department told ABC News that Farias was seen in 2018 “owned by a family member by other family members,” but police were unable to locate him.
His mother told ABC’s KTRK in Houston that her son, now 25, was found with cuts and bruises on his body and blood in his hair. He also said he believes he was abused and beaten and only speaks a few words. She also told KTRK that “it’s going to be a long journey of healing, but she’s thankful that her son was found alive.”
The details of Faris’ reappearance are still unclear. KTRK reports that the Houston Police Department said it is not actively involved in the investigation.
