RAYNHAM, Mass. – A couple who had been engaged in a “hostile, on-again, off-again relationship for a year” were found dead in an apparent murder-suicide at a Raynham home early Tuesday morning, officials said .
Officers responding to a report of a shooting on Ruth Ellen Road around 2 a.m. found two people dead from apparent gunshot wounds, according to the Bristol District Attorney’s office.
The prosecutor identified the victim as Tatiana Tavares, 30, of Raynham, and the alleged gunman as Scott Swale, 43, of Easton.
Investigators say Swale broke a sliding glass door to gain access to the residence, went up to Tavares’ room and shot him in the chest before taking his own life.
The investigation remains ongoing and there is no known threat to the public.
