SANTA YNEZ, Calif. – A Ventura County man won a record $1.3 million slot machine prize Saturday night, claiming the largest prize in Chumash Casino Resort history.
The casino complex said the Ventura man, who wishes to remain anonymous, also won a $556,000 jackpot on the slot machine next to it in May 2023.
“I was surprised and very happy,” said the winner. “I will pay my grandchildren’s tuition. And my granddaughter, who will be 16 in September, will have a new car.”
The previous record prize at Chumash Casino Resort was $1,021,730 in 2014, the resort said.
Within this resort announcement, organizers also announced the return of a guest favorite, the Wheel of Winners promotion.
The draws for a chance to spin the wheel for Slot Free Play prizes will be held from 19:00 to 22:00 every half hour on Thursdays, with five guests having the chance to spin the wheel at 22:00 :00 h.
