A man and woman walking on a sidewalk in the Foothill Farms area of ​​Sacramento County Tuesday night were struck and killed by a suspected DUI driver, the California Highway Patrol said. The couple was struck when a woman driving a Honda Civic eastbound on Elkhorn Boulevard east of Hillsdale Boulevard veered off the road around 8:27 p.m., the CHP’s North Sacramento Division said. Both pedestrians died at the scene. They are believed to be between 50 and 60 years old. The female driver, who is in her late teens or early 20s, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, CHP said. The person will be booked after being medically cleared, officials said.
