DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Police said a shooting left three people dead Wednesday morning in Daytona Beach.

Officers responded to Park Drive near South Martin Luther King Boulevard around 6:30 a.m

Initially, a spokesman for the Daytona Beach Police Department told Channel 9 that two men died as a result of the gunfire and another person was rushed to a hospital.

Around 8:30 a.m., police confirmed the death of a third victim.

Investigators said they have a person of interest in custody, but did not release details.

They said they are in the early stages of their investigation.

Police said they are speaking with witnesses to gather more information.

Eyewitness News is working to learn the relationship between the parties involved in the shooting.

The police have added that the forensic doctor has been dispatched to the scene.

Some roads are affected by police activity.
