An investigation is underway after shots were fired at two people in downtown Tarentum early Monday morning, according to Allegheny County police. The incident happened shortly before 2:45 a.m. in the area of Corbet Street and E. Sixth Avenue. The man and woman who were shot suffered minor injuries, but detectives said they were not injured by the gunfire. The two people involved told Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 they were walking home from the bar after stopping at a nearby gas station when a vehicle pulled up and started shooting. A nearby business owner said he heard about seven gunshots and saw the man and woman run. On Wednesday morning, Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 obtained a criminal complaint for Freedom Brown, 41, of Brackenridge. The criminal complaint said Brown got into a verbal altercation with the victims at a gas station and said he was going to get someone to kill one of them. Police said surveillance video shows Brown pointing the victims at two men, one of whom fired eight shots at them. As of Wednesday morning, Brown was the only person charged in the case.
