A group of friends in South Florida has broken a hunting record.
They did so by capturing the longest python ever documented in the state.

The youths wrestled the 19-foot, 125-pound python to capture it.

And for some of the men, it was their first time hunting a python.
“He was trying to wrap around me trying to strangle me,” said python hunter Jake Waleri. “And my friends, fortunately, were able to get it. And you know, we were able to capture this thing safely. I think they got the real Florida experience.

Researchers are testing the snake and believe it could be at least 20 years old.
