Madhya Pradesh: President Droupadi Murmu will visit Gwalior today

President Droupadi Murmu will pay a day-long visit to Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh on July 13, an official statement said. Murmu will grace the fourth convocation of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management in Gwalior, he said. The President will have lunch at the Jai Vilas Palace, the Gwalior residence of Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, and will also visit the Jiwajirao Scindia Museum, a Madhya Pradesh BJP official said on Wednesday.

At Palau Jai Vilas they are preparing to give the president a traditional welcome and the troupes will do cultural programs on this occasion, he added.

Delhi LG calls DDMA meeting today on rising Yamuna water level

Lt. Governor VK Saxena has called a meeting of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) on Thursday on the rising water level of the Yamuna, Raj Niwas officials said. On Wednesday, the river rose to 207.55 meters at 1 p.m., surpassing the previous record set in 1978, and causing further flooding of areas near the flood plains. During an inspection of the flooded banks of the Yamuna, Saxena told reporters that National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel have been deployed and all those living in low-lying areas will be evacuated.

He expressed hope that the water level of the Yamuna will come down in the coming days as the water release from Haryana’s Hathnikund dam has been reduced. The Lieutenant Governor (LG) said the river water level is expected to reach 207.99 by Wednesday night.

Chandrayaan-3: ISRO completes mission readiness review, countdown begins

The Indian Space Research Organization said on Wednesday that it has completed the ‘Mission Readiness Review’ (MRR) for the Chandrayaan-3 mission to the Moon. In a tweet, the Bengaluru-based national space agency said: Board (MRR) has cleared the launch. The countdown starts on July 13.

The mission is scheduled to launch at 2.35 pm aboard a Mark 3 launch vehicle (LVM3) from the Sriharikota spaceport on July 14.
