SEATTLE – All lanes of southbound Interstate 5 are blocked in downtown Seattle after a crash.
It happened in the HOV lane north of Interstate 90 at 2:40 a.m. Thursday.
Video from a WSDOT camera shows a car with heavy front-end damage facing the wrong direction against a barrier. It is not known how many cars were involved in the accident.
Southbound traffic is being diverted to collector-distributor lanes.
Drivers should plan for extra travel time and expect delays.
The opening of the express lanes will be delayed. They usually open to southbound traffic at 5am
Troopers from the Washington State Patrol and a WSDOT incident response team are on the scene.
It is not yet known if anyone has been injured.

Traffic is being diverted to collector-distributor lanes going SB.
AVOID the area.
Expect DELAYS.
