Torquay United are pleased to announce that left-back Dan Martin has signed a new contract with the Club, ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.
Following his arrival at Plainmoor in the summer of 2021, Dan enjoyed an impressive first season at United, before an injury-hit 2022/23 saw the team robbed of one of their key assets on the left flank.
However, with the club and player working hard behind the scenes to ensure his rehabilitation from illness and injury was a success this summer, Torquay boss Gary Johnson was understandably delighted that with the first game of the season just over two weeks away, he will once again be able to turn to one of the Yellow Army’s most popular players.
“It’s great to have Dan fit again,” Johnson said.
“I’m really happy for Dan as he’s had a terrible time with injury and illness over the last twelve months, but now he’s back and fit, and he’s a big plus for our next campaign.”
With Martin’s new deal rounding off a busy Friday at Plainmoor, he, along with new arrivals Finley Craske and Will Jenkins Davies, will now set their sights on Saturday’s pre-season friendly with Exeter City at Plainmoor.
“All three will participate in tomorrow’s game, and we hope that our Yellow Army will give them a warm welcome.”
