Callie Moore of Lamar was arrested Tuesday for allegedly embezzling $843,455.45 from Carrigan Excavating, located at 30687 CR 19 in Lamar.

According to a signed arrest affidavit from Prowers County District Court, a warrant was issued for Moore’s arrest on charges of theft, identity theft, unauthorized use of a financial transaction device, forgery and issuing a false financial statement.

Moore began working as a secretary and bookkeeper for Carrigan Excavating in June 2018. Her main duties were to keep track of paperwork and pay the company’s invoices. The alleged theft occurred between 2018 and 2022 and was discovered when the company’s CPA noticed irregularities in its financial records.

The money was allegedly stolen when Moore used the company’s credit card for unauthorized items, wrote unauthorized checks to family members who did not work for the company and gave himself unauthorized bonuses.

Moore is currently in custody in Taylor County, Texas, where she was arrested by US Marshals.
