CARBON COUNTY – A magnitude 3.2 earthquake was reported near Edgar on Friday afternoon, shaking several homes and businesses.
The US Geological Survey website it showed the quake struck at 1:57 p.m., with the epicenter three miles north-northwest of Edgar.
The Carbon County Sheriff’s Office said in a social media post that it received several calls of a “large explosion” in the far north of the county before confirming the earthquake.
Several comments on the post suggest it was heard as far north as Park City and as far south as Bridger. There are no reports of major damage at this time.
