Brian Harman has won the Open after holding a six-shot lead going into the final round at Hoylake.
The American went under par on Sunday to finish at -13 holding off late challenges from Jason Day and Tom Kim.
He landed a brilliant 40-foot putt for a birdie on the 14th hole that all but guaranteed victory by returning him to 12 under after an early-round bogey.
Kim came closest to toppling him after going four under in the final round, but still finished six shots behind the leader.
Sepp Straka also threatened after a final-round 69, but ended up tied with Kim at seven under.

The win gives Harman his first major win, with his previous best result coming at the 2017 US Open.
It’s also just the 36-year-old’s third PGA Tour victory, and first since 2017.
He first took the lead by firing a classy 65 in the second round, and held his nerve over the final two days despite the surge of Masters champion John Rahm.
The Spaniard moved one shot behind Young after a bogey-free 63 on Saturday.
It was a superb effort from Rahm, who began the second day before struggling with his best round of golf at the Open since 1987.
There was talk of him challenging Harman, but the 28-year-old failed to match his previous form on Sunday and finished tied with Rory McIlroy and Emiliano Grillo for second on seven under.
Shubhankar Sharma produced an impressive bogey-free final round to finish five under par.
Cameron Young’s local favorite Tommy Fleetwood fell slightly on the final day but finished in the top 10.
