Muskogee police are investigating after three people were found dead inside a home Monday night.
Terry Janway, 68, Dr. Jack Janway, 69, and his grandson, Dalton Janway, 11, were killed in what is being investigated as a murder-suicide, according to Officer Lynn Hamlin of the Muskogee Police Department.
According to police, all the victims had suffered fatal gunshot wounds. Police say Terry is considered the suspect and it is currently unclear what led to the shooting. Dr. Janway worked in Muskogee at the Janway Chiropractic and Acupuncture Clinic. He and Terry Janway are the in-laws of NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson.
Investigators say it all started as an alarm call that came in shortly after 9pm Monday night. A woman called 911 and reported someone with a gun, then hung up. Officers say when they arrived at the scene they found someone lying in the hallway inside the home. Shortly after, they heard another shot from further inside the house. According to police, officers dragged the person lying in the hallway outside and began ordering anyone else inside to come out.
No one answered or came out, so officers began searching the home and say that’s when they found two more people dead.
