BOSTON – The Boston Celtics have signed star forward Jaylen Brown to the richest contract in National Basketball Association history.
Brown and the Celtics have agreed to a five-year supermax extension worth up to $304 million, according to ESPN senior writer Marc J. Spears reported.
Brown’s deal beats two-time MVP Nikola Jokic’s $276 million extension, ESPN reported.
The 26-year-old underwent a physical on Monday to seal the deal, his agent Jason Glushon told the press.
He was eligible for a supermax deal after earning second-team All-NBA honors in 2022-2023.
During the 2022-23 season, Brown averaged a career-best 26.6 points and 49% shooting.
Brown is scheduled to make $31.8 million in the final year of his previous deal.
