A 38-year-old man is facing charges in connection with a fatal shooting when a verbal altercation turned physical Saturday evening. Responding to a call shortly before 6:00 pm about a shooting in the 7800 block of N. Nebraska Ave., Tampa police officers found a man with trauma to his upper body. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died, according to a news release. Pinellas County law enforcement agencies wrote 190 citations and 53 criminal charges during a countywide overnight “DUI Wolf Pack” operation before the Fourth of July holiday. A 64-year-old Maine woman punched a bear chasing her dog, prompting the bear to bite, state wildlife officials said Friday.
