BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. – A record-breaking fish has been caught in a popular Georgia lake. The Georgia Department of Natural Resources said Caleb McLure went out on Lake Allatoona earlier this week and caught what could be the largest in the lake’s history. The huge catch was just 5 feet long and weighed 27 pounds, four ounces. That weight easily topped the previous lake record by 15 pounds, officials said. The first alarm fire occurred at an auto repair shop near Bethany Home Road and 59th Avenue. A man who seriously injured a dog after shooting the animal in the face was sentenced to 18 months in prison, authorities in Florida said. The dog, Rocky, underwent surgery after being shot in the muzzle at a home in Palm Coast, about 40 miles southeast of Jacksonville, in April of last year. Rocky has since been adopted by an employee of the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, the agency said in a news release Thursday. MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – A Pittsburgh man was injured after a police chase turned into a car crash in Moon Township early Saturday morning. According to Pennsylvania State Police, the chase happened near Ewing Road around 3:30 a.m. Ryan Chapman, 30, tried to flee state police at a high rate of speed. The pursuit ended and Chapman was found to have crashed his car on University Boulevard at Stoops Ferry Road, state police said. Chapman was taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries.
