A brutal heat wave hitting Texas this week has the Lone Star State competing with parts of the Middle East and Africa for the world’s hottest places. Several cities in Texas have reached or exceeded 110 degrees Fahrenheit, temperatures not uncommon in Kuwait City, Baghdad or Djibouti, according to weather reports.
