Josh Abbott, a firefighter from Chelmsford, Mass., and East Kingston firefighter Robert Bishop were both off-duty when they encountered a serious accident on East Road near Apple Hill Golf Course around 3:30 pm Saturday afternoon, East Kingston Fire Chief.
