A Meriden father accidentally shot his 17-year-old son Friday afternoon while allegedly teaching the boy about firearms, police said. The teenager was shot near his shoulder with a 9 mm handgun around 3:05 p.m. Friday on Forest Avenue, according to the Meriden Police Department.
