Dave Lewis’s case is still unsolved

In the 14 years since the unsolved murder of David Lewis, the house fire and the burning of the diseased body, Jackson County has endured countless heartaches.

The devastation of the Talent touched everyone. In the same time period, there has been a barrage of cruel crimes. The individual sorrows are too many to list.

The deputies and Sheriff Sickler did a great job. They are receptive, cultured, transparent, firm, brave and sincere.

Evil survives, but love always wins. There is a $20,000 reward for answers and arrests in Dave’s open homicide case. There are networking groups, individuals and organizations to help those who suffer or suffer.

It’s true, we don’t walk, or run, alone. Support, love and kindness exist in every moment. Look for those moments and people.

Be patient, seek justice and be kind. Be sure. Hugging, shaking hands, or elbowing someone. make someone laugh David would want joy and laughter to counteract pain or hurt.

Remember those who have gone before us. Life is precious. Live strong and prosper.

Flag at half mast

Fourth of July last week. We finally did a parade again, although smaller this year.

people outside Children playing, bands, booths.

Neither Democrats nor Republicans today. No politics, no COVID. Life in our village feels almost normal.

Elsewhere, in a town called Highland Park, horror, mayhem and death.

From a rooftop, a sick, obnoxious young man opened fire with an AR-15.

He killed seven innocent people and injured more than 20 others as they watched an Independence Day parade. It destroyed lives and forever poisoned the Fourth of July in that city.

Life in the United States is almost normal. Now, the flag at half-mast, again.

If nothing is going to change, we might as well keep it that way.

Life in America.
