Kilkenny have their first new manager since 1998 with Derek Lyng set to take over from legendary manager Brian Cody. Derek Lyng won six All-Ireland’s during his playing days and managed Kilkenny under-20s. Big boots for him to fill, but I’m sure with the talent he has at his disposal at Midlands County, he’s up to the task at hand.
Kilkenny fans and players will be bitterly disappointed to have come up short this year against a great Limerick side who made it three in a row and four in five years.
It’s already into next year and the managers and squad are getting things going for when the league starts in January.
