Politicians are protected from the world they create

As former President Barack Obama stands on the front porch of his multimillion-dollar Martha’s Vineyard mansion sipping his morning espresso, rosé high in the air, he keeps asking himself, “How did I get so lucky?”

Or there’s Speaker Nancy Pelosi rummaging through her $10,000 freezer trying to choose which gourmet ice cream she’s after. At one point, she turns her head and wags a bony finger at her husband Paul, saying, “No to you; you have been a bad boy”.

Or while US Rep. Adam Schiff is still looking for the proof he promised the country he had that former President Donald Trump was in collusion with Russia. Eric Swalwell goes on another trip to a foreign country living lavishly on our money and tries to find Fang Fang for one more adventure.

AOC is preparing another You Tube video in the hope that this one will get some real sympathy because making about $200,000 isn’t enough, and all the while she keeps pondering how old Nancy became a multi-millionaire working for the government?

Meanwhile, Rep. Liz Cheney is bent over the bathroom sink, looking in the mirror trying to relax her permanent smile because she’s been so proud of herself. And President Joe Biden whispers in Dr. Jill Biden’s ear, “Is it Taco Tuesday yet?”

What do the above have in common?

All of them are unaware of the world they created from the sheltered life they live in.

Every week I struggle to write my column, not because I have nothing to write about, I have too much to write about. OCD bounces from one chaotic problem to another.

But one thing is for sure, I will continue to speak out on what I still consider the biggest crisis facing our country today, and that is our open border. This week I’m going to boil it down to something I recently learned that made my jaw drop.

There have been gangs in one form or another in this country since its inception. Over time they have expanded, and the vast majority of stabbings, shootings, and murders today are gang-related, and we’ve come to accept them.

I have worked for almost 50 years in agriculture, and some of my best friends have been my Mexican partners. Over the years, things changed for them, their trips to Mexico became less and less. They were afraid to go. Thirty years ago they never thought twice about driving across the border to visit family. This stopped when some had their cars stolen by bandits. It was no longer worth the risk.

We all know how the cartels control Mexico and the amount of people they kill is staggering. About 35,000 people were killed in 2020 and more than 11,000 have been killed so far this year.

We’ve heard stories of busloads of children being kidnapped and then people finding mass graves. Or there were heads stuck on poles warning others that you could be next. The cartels have become so powerful that you can now put that genie back in the bottle.

Which brings me to the crux of this column. We’re letting it happen here. When the Democrats opened our border, we were annexed by Mexico.

So when I learned how Mexican and Chinese cartels set up pot farms in the forests of Northern California, I wasn’t entirely surprised. What surprised me was the enormity of those farms and the total absence of law enforcement available to do anything about them. Local residents are literally scared and feel helpless.

Mendocino County Sheriff Matt Kendall estimates there are at least 10,000 illicit crops. There are only 21 MPs to cover 3,500 square miles. And here’s the kicker, even if it’s illegal, it’s only a misdemeanor in California no matter how big the “farm” is. And unless you have proof that they caused harm or killed someone, you probably won’t even be able to get a warrant.

Governor Gavin Newsom plays a big role in this with his sanctuary state. While he admires his teeth and gets the right amount of gel in his hair, “his” state goes the way of Mexico. You won’t hear him say anything about the cartels taking over vast tracts of land destroying their beautiful climate-controlled environment.

He won’t tell you that these cartels are cutting down trees in old growth forests to make way for more pots. Or the amount of garbage and human excrement that covers the pristine landscape. Or how the pesticides brought from Mexico are poisoning the animals and polluting the soil. Nor, during a drought, as these cartels are stealing precious water from farmers and residents, with a major impact on the balance of nature for spotted owls, deer, bears and other wildlife.

I would also have to assume that there are diesel generators picking up the dreaded carbon through these once peaceful forests. I think it’s about time the environmentalists marched into those woods and gave these types of cartels a piece of their mind.

The headless bodies of a father and son who crossed the border of a pot farm sent the message, in typical cartel fashion: Don’t mess with us. Remember, this is in California, not Mexico.

Mike Sena, executive director of the Northern California High Intensity Drug Trafficking Task Force, which oversees 22 federally funded forces, said, “The number of missing people is crazy.”

He added: “It’s the Wild West. We have people fighting regularly over marijuana.”

The cartels have moved into America unhindered. They fear nothing. We’re not playing with fire, we’re playing with a flamethrower. Mexican cartels don’t stop with drugs; they had taken over Mexican avocado farms years ago. If the cartels can control the amount of guacamole to reach the market, you can bet that these shameless killers have their rings in more places than we know of on our American landscape.

We can thank all those Democrats who huddle comfortably behind their walls eating ice cream and drinking coffee with their armed guards for putting us all in danger. And even if they have a clue, they won’t admit it, because they think they’re doing nothing wrong.

Do you want America to continue down the road to hell? Then keep voting these people. You can cover your eyes and pretend there is nothing to see here. But this is serious stuff.

We are already paying dearly for the lethal drugs the cartels are killing our children with. Soon, territorial wars will break out. Ironically, Americans are fleeing to Mexico because it is becoming more dangerous here.
