President Biden tests positive for COVID-19 again

According to memorandum published on Saturday by the White House, US President Joe Biden has tested positive for COVID-19 again after testing negative for days.

“After testing negative on Tuesday evening, Wednesday morning, Thursday morning and Friday morning, the president tested positive again on Saturday morning,” said the letter from White House physician Kevin C. O’Connor.
“This fact represents the positivity of ‘rebound’.”

O’Connor said some patients treated with the Paxlovid pill, such as Biden, experience cases of rebound disease caused by the SARS CoV-2 virus. Although Biden tested positive, the doctor said the president has not re-emerged with symptoms and “continues to feel pretty good.”

Biden completed a five-day course of Paxlovid monday night. Biden earlier tested positive on July 21 and reported symptoms that included runny nose, fatigue, and occasional dry cough.

Folks, I tested positive for COVID again today.

This happens to a small minority of people.

I have no symptoms, but I will self-isolate for the safety of everyone around me.

I’m still at work and will be back on the road soon.

Because there are currently no symptoms, O’Connor said there is no reason to treat the president at this time, although observation of his condition will continue as well as strict isolation procedures.
