Days of our Lives ends its nearly 57-year run on NBC in just over a month. But the show is not cancelled. Instead, DAYS will continue to air on the network’s streaming service, Peacock. DAYS has already aired original content on Peacock with Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem.
The days of our lives move in the peacock
Beginning Monday, Sept. 12, NBC says in a statement, “Peacock will become the exclusive home of the fan-favorite drama Days of our Lives. For the first time, all new episodes of the 58-time Emmy Award-winning drama will premiere on Peacock daily with the show’s robust library now available to stream for Peacock Premium subscribers.

“The historic move to Peacock creates the ultimate destination for daytime fans to access the library, new episodes and the Peacock Original Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem in one place. “This programming shift benefits both Peacock and NBC and reflects our broader strategy of using our portfolio to maximize reach and strengthen engagement with viewers,” Mark Lazarus, president of NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, said of the decision.

“With a large percentage of the Days of Our Lives audience already watching digitally,” adds Lazarus, “this move allows us to build the show’s loyal fan base on streaming while strengthening the network’s daytime offering with an opportunity urgent live programming for members and consumers”.
DAYS executive producer Ken Corday chatted with Soap Hub on the Daytime Emmys red carpet about broadcast shows moving to streaming services. “It’s the future,” Corday said. “We will talk about it [more]…but linear is the future. The transmission will survive, but for how long is unknown.”
Now it seems that time has come. NBC will fill the DAYS time slot with a one-hour news program, NBC News Daily, which will be hosted by Kate Snow, Aaron Gilchrist, Vicky Nguyen and Morgan Radford.
