Atlanta police are looking for a group they say shot a man who caught them breaking into his car

ATLANTA — Atlanta police say they need the public’s help locating three men who shot a man after seeing them get into his car.

On Saturday, June 18 around 6:30 p.m., police responded to a call of a person shot in the 2700 block of Lakewood Avenue SW.

When they went to the scene, police found the shooting victim at 1458 Metropolitan Parkway. Police said the victim was trying to drive himself to the hospital.

He was able to stop, but saw Atlanta Fire and Rescue en route.

The initial investigation revealed that the victim went to 2790 Lakewood Avenue, parked his vehicle and entered the location.

Shortly after, he observed three men enter his car.

Police said the victim went outside and tried to confront the men, when he was immediately shot. The suspects then fled the scene.
