Chile High School football coach Kevin Pettis has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation into allegations of possible athletic violations, according to Leon County Schools.
TR has been told the investigation concerns an allegation that Pettis solicited a Chile player for injuring another player during a game last fall.
Additionally, TR has received documentation indicating that students who transferred to Chiles High School from other areas to play football at Chiles used fraudulent documentation.
TR wrote about a previous investigation related to the Chiles football program in May 2021. An investigation by Chiles High School administrators into a complaint filed against Pettis determined that the allegations, which included bullying and the use of degrading language, were not confirmed. The finding was based on nine surveys of randomly selected football players and interviews with adults affiliated with the program.
Parents told TR they believed the four-day investigation was rushed and failed to take into account detailed complaints.
This is a developing story.
