CANTON, Mass. – A man died Saturday morning in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 in Canton, state police said.
The victim’s name was not released pending notification of next of kin.
A preliminary investigation found the crash happened around 5 a.m. when a 2020 Toyota Tundra traveling southbound on I-95 at a high rate of speed attempted to change lanes, state police said .
The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, lost control of the Tundra, which struck the guardrail and went into the center median, state police said. The driver was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other vehicle was involved in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation by the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, the State Police Crime Scene Services Section and the Norfolk County State Police Detective Unit .
Crews temporarily closed the left and middle lanes of the road. All lanes were reopened at 9:30 a.m
