The coroner identifies a woman killed in a hit-and-run Saturday night

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – A Fayette County employee has died after being hit by a car Saturday night.

The Fayette County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 60-year-old Lynette Laine.

Laine was a nurse at Rise Academy.

She was pronounced dead at UK Medical Center after being struck by a motor vehicle at Sandersville Road and Atoma Drive.

The coroner has ruled the death an accident and the cause of death is traumatic injuries to the head, torso and extremities.

LPD is investigating the incident.

A pedestrian is in critical condition after being injured in a hit-and-run Saturday night, according to Lexington police.

Officials say the incident happened around 10:30 p.m. Saturday at Sandersville Road and Atoma Drive.

The victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The case is being investigated as a hit-and-run and officials have no information on the driver.
