The Pulte Family Charitable Foundation signed a $111 million partnership with the University of Notre Dame in 2019 to establish the Pulte Institute for Global Development and other associated initiatives within the Keough School of Global Affairs develop a global approach to care for the most needy, the most alienated and the most displaced.
Now, the foundation has made an additional gift of $9 million to create the Pulte Platform for Policy Studies at the Keough School.

The Keough School integrates the work of academic researchers, policy experts and practitioners to generate new knowledge and obtain practical ideas and solutions to the world’s toughest problems. The Pulte Platform for Political Studies will expand this work by appointing three senior professors who will enhance the school’s international impact on the issues of integral human development, poverty and peace.
Andrés Mejía Acosta he is the first professor of Politics and Practice of the Pulte family. Acosta is the Kuster Family Associate Dean for Policy and Practice at the Keough School and an expert on the dynamics of formal and informal policy negotiation among government elites when adopting sustainable and inclusive policies in low- and middle-income countries .
“I am delighted that Professor Mejía Acosta has joined our leadership team and that she is already coordinating with great skill and knowledge our multidimensional policy and practice research, publication and outreach program,” he said. The Pulte Platform for Policy Studies will support two additional faculty with experience in the field to enhance academic excellence and policy relevance in areas that are critical to the Keough School’s strategic plan, such as justice environmental, climate change, poverty and inequality.
Guided by a belief in the inherent dignity of all people, the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation works to meet the basic human needs of the most marginalized members of the human family, including socioeconomically disadvantaged youth; the old ones; people with physical, emotional and mental disabilities; and those with fewer material resources.
