Deputies with the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office arrested a robbery suspect Monday who is also believed to be connected to a carjacking in Apopka and an aggravated battery in Lake County.

David Flores, a 36-year-old Apopka resident, was arrested and charged with burglary in Seminole County.

According to the SCSO statement and arrest report, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance after Flores was involved in an armed carjacking in their jurisdiction and fled to Seminole County .

At approximately 7:55 p.m., SCSO deputies responded to the area of ​​Wekiva Springs Road and Riverbend Boulevard. The driver entered Seminole County in a white Chevrolet Malibu and then fled on foot in the area of ​​Riverbend Boulevard.

During the search for the suspect, the dispatch reported that the Lake County Sheriff’s Office had issued a BOLO for the same vehicle and suspect. Flores had allegedly committed aggravated battery with a deadly weapon in his jurisdiction.

At approximately 11:04 p.m., Orange County K9 units located Flores, who was hiding inside a shed in the backyard of a residence on Riverbend Boulevard.

Flores was taken into custody without incident and transported to the John E. Polk Correctional Facility in Seminole County. His bond is currently set at $13,000, with additional charges pending.

According to a statement from the Apopka Police Department, the On Sunday at approximately 11:15 p.m., the victim of a robbery or carjacking with a firearm reported to APD at the intersection of West 8th Street and Washington Avenue. Before the victim reached the officer, the suspect fled the area in the victim’s vehicle. A BOLO alert has been issued for the vehicle to surrounding law enforcement.

On Monday, OCSO located the stolen vehicle and chased it into Seminole County, where the occupant was captured after an extensive manhunt by OCSO, SCSO and APD.

The Apopka Police Department is currently continuing to investigate the carjacking/jacking to connect Flores to the original case.
