Trump says GOP would be ‘reprimanded’ for not pushing 2020 election lies
Donald Trump has said the Republican base would “rebuke” him if he stopped pushing his lies about the 2020 election being stolen from him.
Although Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and President Joe Biden have criticized Mr. Trump for obsessing over the past and not moving forward, Mr. Trump told The Messenger that he would not give up on the issue.
“If you look at the polls, almost 80 percent of our party believes the election was rigged … I think history is something that, if you don’t learn from it, you’re a fool,” Trump said. “That doesn’t mean I have to devote half of my speech to 2020, but devoting two percent, three percent, four percent to it is fine. And I think if I didn’t, I would be reprimanded by a much of the Republican Party.”
A recent poll found that while more and more Republicans realize there is no real evidence that the 2020 election was rigged, a majority, 63 percent, still believe it was.
Within that group, 52% say they believe there is “strong evidence,” while 48% base that belief on “suspicion,” according to the CNN poll.

Prosecutor ends FBI probe into Trump-Russia probe without new charges
A special prosecutor has ended his four-year investigation into possible FBI misconduct in its investigation into ties between Russia and Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign with overwhelming criticism of the office, but with a scant judicial record that was far from the former president’s prediction that he would discover the “crime of the century”.
The report by special counsel John Durham represents the long-awaited culmination of an investigation that Mr Trump and his allies had said would expose massive wrongdoing by intelligence officials and law enforcement. order
Instead, the investigation yielded underwhelming results, with prosecutors securing a guilty plea from a little-known FBI employee but losing the only two criminal cases that went to trial.

Trump claimed the Durham investigation would uncover the “crime of the century.” Here’s what he actually found
An investigation into the origins of the FBI’s investigation into ties between Russia and Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign has finally concluded, with the prosecutor leading the probe releasing a long-awaited report that found major defects.
The report, the culmination of a four-year investigation into possible misconduct by US government officials, contained scathing criticism of the FBI but few significant revelations. But it will give way to Trump supporters who have long decried the Russia probe, as well as his opponents who say the Durham team’s scant court record shows its investigation was a sham politically motivated.

Trump says Melania is ‘excited’ about 2024 campaign
Donald Trump has said his wife, former first lady Melania Trump, is very “excited” about his 2024 campaign.
The messenger asked Mr Trump: “Will your wife, Melania Trump, be involved in your re-election?”
“She’s very excited, very, very excited,” Trump said.
As America marked Mother’s Day on the day, Mr Trump posted an oddly predictable message celebrating mothers, particularly those of his arch-enemies.
Perhaps in his eagerness to stick him with the “radical left fascists” he failed to mention his wife, Melania, mother of his young son, Barron.
The former president continued Social Truth: “Happy Mother’s Day to ALL, especially to the mothers, wives and lovers of the radical left fascists, marxists and communists who are doing everything in their power to destroy and erase our once great country.”
He continued, “Please make these lunatics and complete maniacs kinder, gentler, softer, and most importantly, smarter, so we can, quickly, MAKE AMERICA GREAT RETURN!!!”

Trump doesn’t “want to comment” on what’s in the JFK assassination files
In an interview, Donald Trump was asked about the John F Kennedy assassination files, which he said he would release in full as president.
He didn’t end up keeping that promise.
Judge Andrew Napolitano said in a podcast interview that Trump had said the information should not be made public.
“I released a lot, as you know. And I will release everything else,” Trump said the messenger
Mr Trump was then asked: “So there was nothing there that the public should be afraid of or that makes the United States look terrible?”
“Well, I don’t want to comment on that. But I will tell you that I have released a lot of it. I will release the remaining part very early in my tenure,” he said.

Trump-Russia investigation criticizes FBI, but does not recommend new charges
An investigation into a Trump administration prosecutor accused of undermining and discrediting the FBI’s investigation into alleged ties between former President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign and the Russian government has ended after four years and only a criminal conviction.
The findings of the investigation, led by special counsel John Durham, are laid out in a nearly 300-page report in which the once-respected career prosecutor, who was hand-picked to delegitimize the FBI’s efforts to determine whether the Trump campaign coordinated with Russia’s efforts to boost his candidacy criticized the FBI for opening an investigation into the Trump campaign based on “raw, unanalyzed and uncorroborated intelligence” and accusing investigators of suffer from “confirmation bias”.
During the four years Durham worked to discredit the department’s investigation, he brought only a handful of cases against criminal defendants, including an FBI lawyer who pleaded guilty to tampering with an email used to secure a warrant surveillance against a former Trump campaign adviser, and two other figures associated with the Trump-Russia investigation who were acquitted at trial.

New Hampshire university condemns Trump after ‘deeply troubling’ CNN town hall on campus
Saint Anselm College criticized both the former president’s comments and the reactions to his remarks from the Trump-friendly audience in the auditorium.
CNN moderator Kaitlan Collins asked Trump about the civil trial between him and writer and former advice columnist E Jean Carroll. Trump was found liable for sexual abuse and defamation and has been ordered to pay her $5 million. Mr. Trump was not found liable for violation. His legal team is appealing the sentence.
Mr Trump denied Ms Carroll’s accusation, to laughter from the crowd in the courtroom.
“A Manhattan jury found that you sexually abused and defamed E writer Jean Carroll. You’ve denied it. But what do you say to voters who say that disqualifies you to be president?” Ms. Collins said.

Trump shares fake video of Anderson Cooper’s reaction to CNN town hall ‘disruption’, with Biden in place
Donald Trump shared doctored video of Anderson Cooper’s dark reaction to CNN’s town hall with the former president, using old clips to make it look like the anchor was talking about Joe Biden.
The video published on Truth Social on Saturday begins with Cooper’s monologue Thursday in the face of outrage over the event with Trump before moving to footage of a town hall the CNN host held with Biden in October 2021.
The council on Wednesday (May 10) featured Mr. Trump in an unmoderated discussion with CNN host Kaitlan Collins, during which he made numerous false statements, advanced conspiracy theories about the 2020 election and promise to pardon the Capitol rioters charged with crimes for their part in the attempted insurrection two years ago.
Cooper opened his show, Anderson Cooper 360, the next day by acknowledging that many viewers expressed “deep anger and disappointment” after the event.
In the altered video released by Mr. Trump, Cooper’s comments were spliced to remove any direct reference to the former president.
