Heavens let’s make some noise for the title Chasing Ghirls by helicopter on Sunday at CELTIC PARK… You really have to believe us, you really have to believe us…

The Celtic Star understands from senior sources at Celtic Football Club that this Sunday’s season finale in the SWPL1 title race when Celtic FC Women take on Hearts will NOT be played in Airdrie, but will now be played at Celtic Park !

A win guarantees Celtic a place in the Champions League, while in the game at Ibrox between Rangers and Glasgow City, the result of this game could see either team win or, indeed, deliver- to Celtic on what will be a historic Sunday by helicopter.

Fran Alonso’s side need to overcome at least one goal difference with Rangers because if both teams win, it will come down to goal difference. Rangers won 6-0 against Hearts on Sunday and Fran Alonso’s side will be looking for a big turnout at Celtic Park to clinch a first SWPL1 title. Goals and more goals are needed against Hearts and so is a bigger crowd than there was last Thursday night when 9553 turned up and the Celtic End got their first taste of Celtic Park and the atmosphere they created.

Now they and indeed the entire Celtic support can lead the Ghirls to their first league win 130 years after Celtic’s first title success for the men’s team.

Glasgow City know a draw will do them little good as they can’t catch Celtic on goal difference and a draw at Ibrox along with any Celtic win over Hearts gives Celtic the title and Glasgow City second in the Champions League.

If Glasgow City get the win they will be Champions worthy and Celtic should be in the Champions League unless Hearts beat the Hoops. However, having watched the teams closely and with Rangers’ huge support going into the game at Ibrox, where tickets are just £1 for season tickets, it is far more likely that the home team, who are the defending Champions, win this one, and in doing so, grab a place in the Champions League and watch the scoreboard at Celtic Park to see which team lifts the SWPL1 trophy.

Rangers cannot afford to drag City down to deny Celtic the title as that would cost them a place in the Champions League next season. They will do everything possible to win and to beat Celtic. With all due respect to Hearts, (who were recently beaten 6-0 by Celtic in Edinburgh) we have the easier task of getting a goal difference advantage by the final whistle and that could and probably will give is the title.

Rangers’ route to the title is to win and also beat Celtic, with a +1 advantage but with Celtic playing the odd team, the only one of the four with nothing to play for.

That is why both Rangers and now Celtic have moved their final remaining home games to Ibrox and Celtic Park, where the fate of the trophy will not be determined until both games are concluded.

Who will be Champions? It’s anyone’s guess, but it could well be green and white ribbons on the SWPL1 trophy when the helicopter arrives outside Paradise (ok, it may come in a car, but you get the idea!)

Celtic had a crowd of 9,553 for their game against Glasgow City last Thursday night and there was also a huge television audience for the game which was broadcast live on Sky Sports. Everyone watching in the stadium or on TV must have been very impressed by the atmosphere and Fran Alonso and his team were certainly cheering afterwards.

With an even bigger Celtic support on Sunday, it looks a lot more likely. Make sure you’re there!

Our opinion hasn’t really changed all season. Celtic are the best team in the league and they will come on Sunday after… You have to believe us, you have to believe us… we will win the league!

And by the way, the following Sunday, Celtic take on Rangers in the Scottish Cup final at Hampden.

But before that, let’s get behind the Ghirls this Sunday and give the Ghirls the support they need to win the league.

CONFIRMED…
