Action News Princess Jax Jhané Stepherson arrived on the scene around 5:10 a.m. to find that several residents of the apartment complex had been evacuated. He spoke with a JSO officer about what’s going on, but since it’s an active investigation, officers are being firm.

However, Stepherson also spoke with a resident, who claims to live inside the complex and still has family inside. More Matthies moved into the complex a year ago and says it’s usually a quiet place.

Matthies also says he had a friend inside his apartment earlier who told him that JSO told him to stay in his apartment.

“He said he’s a guy who shoots a gun everywhere,” she said. “I hope they fix this. We pay rent. This isn’t great. It’s supposed to be Southside, Arlington area. What’s going on?”

Stepherson also heard someone yell at the scene earlier, “If you’re in fear of your life, we can help you. If you need help, JFRD is on the scene.”
