Man dies after trailer overturns at Hampstead, NH campground, police say – Boston 25 News

HAMPSTEAD, NH – A man is dead after a trailer fell on top of him at a campground in Hampstead Sunday afternoon, police said.

Shortly before 2pm Sunday, emergency crews responded to the Sunset Lake Campground at 104 Emerson Ave. for a report of a man trapped under a fallen trailer, police said in a statement.

The victim was extricated after his trailer was lifted by a front-end loader from Hampstead Town Highway, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man was not identified Sunday pending family notification.

A preliminary investigation found the man had been working under the elevated trailer when the support system failed and the trailer fell on top of him, police said.

The incident is being investigated by the Hampstead Police Department with assistance from the Hampstead Fire Department and the New Hampshire Medical Examiner’s Office.

Hampstead is about 42 miles north of Boston and just north of the border between Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
