Author E Jean Carroll is amending her defamation lawsuit against Donald Trump to include disparaging remarks made by the former president at a CNN town hall.
Roberta Kaplan filed a proposed update to the $10 million Manhattan civil court complaint on Monday to include comments made by Mr. Trump after he was found liable for sexually assaulting and defaming Ms. Carroll in a New York jury trial.
Meanwhile, Trump’s media company has filed a $3.78 billion lawsuit against The Washington Post for alleged defamation over its social media platform Truth Social. The lawsuit claims the newspaper had been on a “year-long crusade” to undermine Trump Media, which was founded in February 2021.
A top Trump lawyer is abandoning his legal defense effort, blaming the former president’s top aide Boris Epshteyn for allegedly being dishonest and not forthcoming in his work to help lawyers with his defense against an investigation into whether he withheld documents classified illegally.
