The panel:

Jim Galloway, former political columnist, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, @JimJournalist
Leo Smith, GOP political consultant and founder of Engaged Futures, @leosmithtweets
Meg Kinnard, National Politics Reporter, Associated Press, @MegKinnardAP
The breakdown:
1. South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis launch their bids for the Republican presidential nomination.
US Senator Tim Scott has represented South Carolina since 2013. He presents himself as a true conservative with a positive story to tell. Meg Kinnard, says Tim Scott and Nikki Haley share a home state, and that could split the vote. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis presented here by PBS NewsHourtook a non-traditional route by using a Twitter slot with Elon Musk.
Leo Smith reflects on welcoming Tim Scott in 2015.
2. Meanwhile, President Biden leads CNN polls as his approval rating slips.
Within their own party, 60 percent of Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters say they support Biden for the top of the Democratic ticket next year. Robert Kennedy has launched a bid against the incumbent president who got 20% in this poll. But only a third of Americans say a Biden victory in 2024 would be a step forward for the country. Biden’s approval ratings have fallen since December.
Meg Kinnard puts the early polls into perspective.
3. The Supreme Court weakens the authority of the Environmental Protection Agency.
It was the court’s second decision in a year that limited the agency’s ability to enact regulations against pollution and combat climate change. The EPA blocked an Idaho couple from building a home near a lake on their property, saying the construction would pollute water protected by the Clean Water Act.
Jim Galloway assesses what the Supreme Court ruling means for Georgia.
